Out shooting!

Today was quite fun shooting with some friends of mine. Twila and Kacy Whitley were awesome models for me! I allowed them to choose their own outfits and just have fun with the photo shoot!! Here are a few of the images that were taken.

Awesome Photographer tells his amazing story!

During the Photojournalism Seminar, photographer John Kaplan shared a documentary he did on his journey through Cancer. It's definitely a video worth watching and sharing with everyone you know! We all know someone or may have lost someone to cancer! Watch the trailer and order your free copy of the film from the website www.notasipictured.org

Photojournalism Winners!

Being at the Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar was AWESOME to say the least. There were so many photographers that were Pulitzer prize winners and it was a bit intimidating being around them, however they were truly personable. They were all open to share their knowledge and give advice of how to make money in this economy. Those who chose to, could enter their work in a variety of categories to possibly win. Gwinnett Technical College graduate, Damian AhChing won first place for one of his images! Congrats, Damian!
The complete list of winners and their images are listed on the website. http://www.photojournalism.org/2010-contest-winners/

Connecting the dots! What I learned pt3

As we near the end of this quarter of school, I'm noting the three things I learned in the Multimedia II class taught by David Allen Jones. I believe one of the main things I learned is the importance of connecting to my classmates as well as other photographers and artists. Creating a larger resource base is beneficial for all parties. Photographers need models, models need makeup artists, etc. The list goes on and on. I am happy to have learned so much information and I hope that I will continue building the web of connections so that we can all grow and network together! Until next time!

What I learned, part 2!!

Blogs, blogs, blogs!! After our instructor (Multimedia II) talked to us about creating an online presence and shaking the web, we began creating blogs! It was interesting to see the differences and similarities between all of the various blog sites. Once we got used to using one, it was time to learn a new one and THEN another one! Blogger, Wordpress and Tumblr are three of the top blogging websites, so that's what we learned! I am growing to love parts of each one.

What have I learned?

This quarter in our Multimedia II class, we learned A LOT!! One of the first things I learned in this class was the importance of creating an online presence. To bring awareness to my photography, I need to have a variety of places where people can find me and my work. This was the beginning of our creating a web of contacts! There was so much more I learned...but we'll talk about that again tomorrow!

What a weekend!!

I am so inspired after going to the Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar! Having an opportunity to hear such amazing photographers and look at their work was definitely priceless. I would suggest that any and all photographers plan to attend next years seminar. The information was truly invaluable. Thank you to Ms Sheri Finch for sharing your passion for this field of photography and allowing me to be a part! I will never forget it!
